Introducing CR-18P EVO-PRO
HobbyPlus RC started with micro crawlers in 2018 and made the world’s first hobby-grade
scale crawler in 2019. A few years down the road, we have introduced the CR-18, the
CR-18P and CR-18P EVO series. With feedback from dealers and users, we have
learned that performance is of the utmost importance with small-scale crawlers. The
userbase in this category is growing very fast.
The expectation of users nowadays is different. They wish to have a small-scale RC that
can be enjoyed not only on the tabletop indoors but also outdoors under extreme
conditions.
This brings us to our latest creation, the new EVO-PRO. The new PRO version is
designed for those looking for a small scaler that has comp-level performance and
durability. It is designed with a new LCG-concept chassis frame, and revised shock
geometry with big-bore oil shocks for better articulation while crawling.
New servo-on-axle (SOA) setup has been designed for sharper steering, and will be aided
by sticky oversize tires, giving users maximum traction on all terrain. The layout of the
chassis has also been redesigned with better weight bias, and a more powerful 280 size
big-block motor has been included to make sure users get the best crawling experience.
To accommodate the new motor, we have designed a new heavy duty driveshaft for the
EVO-PRO!

Great rig when everything works. Ran this RTR for the first time for 5 minutes and sadly the servo for the 2 speed transmission burnt out and stopped working completely. Also it is true that the stock drive shafts snap out. Would be a perfect rig if the servo for the transmission didn’t go out. Other than those main issues, this rig out the box is very capable.
First and foremost, GET THIS. It is an amazing crawler. It is setup nearly perfect and tackles obstacles that none of my other 18th scale crawlers can even attempt. This machine is the real deal. There are a few areas that really should be watched. Battery cut off. I ran this on a trail crawl with a 600mah Lipo. It slowed down a lot and we pushed it to the end of the trail (over 2 miles and about an hour and 30 minutes). The car never stopped and we ended up running the battery down to 6.6 volts. The battery recovered just fine, and nothing ever got hot, but do watch keep an eye on your battery. The driveshafts are really a very weak point. I twisted one pretty bad on my home course trying to get the front end out of a hole. Partially my fault, but the plastic shafts are still a weak point that needs to be addressed. The last issue I have is the stupid on off switch placement. I hate having to remove the body (and those horrible body clips, come on Hobby Plus take a look at what Axial does for body clips!)to turn this on or off. This is just poor design. I do love everything else about this machine, and running this head to head with the Rushmore, I can say the big bore motor is overly capable, and has everything one needs for a great crawling experience.
Received this truck an tried out same day ran great adjusted the rear tourqe twist with just moving rear drive shaft over awesome little truck for the money.
Quick and simple order process, and I received the newest generation of truck, with updated rear axle, before it was even known as an update!

Great crawler right out of the box. It has performed well and I have been very happy with it. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is the gear shift servo took a dump on about the 10th run (approximately 3mo old). Not too big of a deal, but still a bummer for relatively new car.
Good little crawler. 2 speed transmission is awesome. Climbs very well besides torque twist from the rear.

This little guy punches way above his weight class! I would definitely tell anybody to buy this mini crawler. The buying experience was flawless and I was treated with a professional manner when I communicated my questions. I will definitely be buying from HeliDirect again!
