The NEXUS Flybarless (FBL) control unit has been designed from the ground up based on the Rotorflight 2.0 reference design. All aspects of the NEXUS have been planned and tested for optimum performance and compatibility, ensuring the best out-of-the-box Rotorflight experience on the market today.

With its advanced STM32F722 MCU and the TDK ICM-42688-P 6-axis MEMS motion tracking device, which combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer, the NEXUS flight controller ensures precision control and flight. A large 128Mb of onboard flash memory ensures you can log all your flights for fine-tuning and adjustment.

Our Plug'n'Play solder-free RP3-H ExpressLRS receivers feature a locking connector system to ensure a stable connection between the control unit and receiver. DSM and S.BUS ports are also available for use with your selected receiver type. The NEXUS also features multi-function ports for future expansion.

The NEXUS features a CNC machined aluminum case as standard, which looks great, protects the control unit, and dissipates heat for the F722 processor.

After more than 12 months of R&D, the NEXUS has been tested, tuned, and tested again by not only the developers at Rotorflight but also a team of experienced helicopter pilots who took part in our beta testing program. We would like to thank the Rotorflight team and the Beta testing team for making the NEXUS possible!

Features

  • The NEXUS Helicopter flight controller is designed from the ground up specifically for Rotorflight 2.0
  • Equipped with an advanced STM32F722 MCU and TDK 6-axis MEMS motion tracking device, which combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer
  • Built-in Black Box: A large 128Mb of onboard flash memory ensures you can log all your flights for fine-tuning and adjustment
  • Locking connector system compatible with our Plug'n'Play solder-free RP3-H ExpressLRS receivers, You can rest assured that there will be a stable connection between the control unit and the receiver (RP3-H not included)
  • Features multi-function ports (UART) for future expansion
  • The NEXUS flight controller is compact and rugged. The CNC case not only protects the internal components but acts as a heat sink to help keep the electronics cool
  • The NEXUS measures just 41mm x 25mm and is only 13mm high, making it a perfect fit  for any size heli build, including 250/450/500/550/600/700 helicopters
  • The NEXUS flight controller supports a wide range of Tail Motors and Tail ESCs (760μs / 1520μs)
  • A variety of receivers are supported, including CRSF, ELRS, GHOST, S.BUS, SUMD, IBUS, XBUS, EXBUS, PPM, MSP, DSM2, DSMX, and F PORT
  • The device has multiple independent power supplies that minimize noise when reaching 1.8V.  It includes 1.8V for Gyro, 3.3V for the MCU, and 5.0V for the external interface
  • Ultra light-weight and flexible USB-C extender cable is included to help in situations where the USB-C port may not be easy to reach. Made as light as possible because every gram counts and uses flexible silicone wires to prevent vibration transfer to the control unit

Great FBL. Will buy another one sometime for my next project.

Great FBL with a bit of learning curve there to setup

Brought this and installed it on my RAW 420 recently. I have owned all sorts of different brand of FBL in the past, vbar, ikon, spirit, axon and etc. This nexus one is definitely among the best that I have used, especially considered the price point. The unit is well made and it flies great.

The downside, at least to me, is: it is not the easiest one to setup since it has tons of parameters and options that you can choose from and tune. If you are familiar with Betaflight for FPV then you probably won't have any problem using Rotorflight to setup it. Fortunately, there are good video instructions on youtube that you can check out and learn (very detailed, hours longs of video...).

I bundle it with FrSky R9MM-OTA RX and Hobbywing 60A V4 ESC. They work great together with all telemetry information transferred to my TX. It is not as plug-n-play as the radiomaster's rx. But the Nexus FBL unit comes with a few extra UART pigtail connector that you can create custom cable to your ESC and RX pretty easily.

A great flight controller!

I just flew the Nexus Flight controller in my old HK450 helicopter with my Spektrum Dx7 tx and was shocked how well the helicopter flew! I had to spend some time understanding how to set things up, but I'm so happy I did, now the potential is amazing. Is kind of like having a tx that runs on OpenTX or EdgeTX, their is a big learning curving and also a big reward if you put in the effort

Nice fbl unit

It's a nice fbl unit , its just not beginner friendly (no presets like beginner sport, 3d) everything must be setup . Would be 5 stars but I feel beginners will try to buy this unit because of the price, then realize it requires more know-how then they have.

My new goto flybarless unit

I installed it on a Goosky RS4 Venom to replace the original flybarless unit and it flies great and i really like how tail is solid and there are no oscillations! I plan to replace my ikon hd on Align 470lm as well with the same unit. The setup takes some time, there are a lot of knobs, but if you have any experience with betaflight/inav it will be straightforward! Plus there are a lot of videos on how to setup it from the scratch.
