Great truck, very capable.

I was very surprised how capable this was out of the box, well made and climbs over anything.

So much fun!

This truck is so much fun! Out of the box it is really ready to go. It handles all the obstacles my crawlers do & looks cool while doing so. The light functions are well done, the wench is great. I may do some upgrades at some point, but I'm having too much fun with it as is to even really think about that right now.

Best mini rc purchase of 2024

Arrived flawless with quick shipping. A couple weeks later beefy links and driveshafts were delivered separately. It was a good gesture but I like having metal links and driveshafts. So those are getting upgraded. It's crazy how good it crawls. I highly recommend picking one up.

Arktos 6x6

I purchased this crawler primarily for playing with my young son. It is SUPER fun and he gets very excited almost daily to play tow trucks with me. The winch is super cool and a lot of fun. The reason for the 3 star review is that shortly after purchasing the truck I had an issue with the endpoints on the shift servo. Somehow the settings got messed up and the truck would not stay in high gear. I contacted HeliDirect and they referred me to a YouTube video that showed how to change the endpoints (as there are no directions for setting endpoints on this channel in the manual). When I did the process outlined in the video, the servo went to full extension and immediately burned out. I have around 12 mini crawlers (some of which I have built from scratch) and I have never had an issue like this with a shift servo. I am not sure if my servo/esc/transmitter was defective, but I am currently waiting on HeliDirect to give me instructions. I have several other servos that I could use to replace it, but the connector on the shift servo is different than a standard servo cord so I will either need an adapter or a servo from HobbyPlus. I am also a bit frustrated with having to disassemble this truck so soon after buying it because, as mention, this truck was specifically purchased for my young son and I to play together and now it is not functioning properly. I am hoping mine was just defective and HeliDirect or Hobby Plus will send me a replacement truck.

The portal pins can come off the gear

I love this 6x6 but it's not 100, the portal pins can just come off the gear and you cannot tighten the wheels to much or you'll get binding and the hardware on the hole rig is to small aside all that it's really scale.

not ready for prime time

I'm a Hobby Plus fanboy for sure. I have the Rushmore, Evo Plus, Evo Rockvan and the furitech fx 118. I was very pumped for this 6x6. Overall the design is pretty cool and the specs seem to be amazing. Execution is a bit lacking. The links are a joke and flex even under low speed normal running. The rear driveshaft came apart right away on mine. Hobby Plus did send me heavier links and replacement driveshafts free of charge- so I'm good there. My biggest issues is that mine does not run well in low gear. It skips horrible and stalls out under power. Seems the shift servo end points need to be reset according to CS. They linked me to a video on how to do this, but the video is the older style transmitter so I have not figured out the correct combo to press for the new transmitter (which I hate BTW as it is too big-- Allmost feels like I'm running a Traxx). Once I get everything squared away I'm sure this will be a fun rig, but for now I wish I had saved my money and waited until they had this truly ready for the public

Nice unit.

Enjoy the looks of the 6x6. Have only run the truck indoors and it performs great.
