Not new to the hobby, have other helis in 500 and 600 scale. Purchase it to give to my grandson. I set it up and did the first test fly and this little bird just flies erratic, sub-trims are not working to correct the drifts, calibration does nothing. It is a hell of finger work to keep it in the air. I cannot give this to him, will be more like an expensive static model. I don't know if I got a lemon or what, helidirect shipped very fast as always and with a sturdy box but UPS managed to put a big dent in one corner like if the box was dropped from 20 feet, wonder if the impact caused some damage in the electronics, all mechanics are fine from my inspection. Anyway, very disappointed, $200 for a cheap plastic static model.

This was my first rc chopper. Looks great, easy to fly, took all of 1 minute and I had the feel for the controls operating the chopper as it was strapped to a desk. Made sure everything worked as stated in manual. First flight took off and landed in auto mode, second did manual take off and landing, third flight took off, flew about 40 feet away and back at about 30 feet up....alot of fun. I calibrated on the ground had no yawl issues. I have been operating in second speed mode.....read the manual, get familiar with controls then test fly. Like it alot !

been flying rc planes and helis for 40 years the c189 md 500 is a ton of fun love the auto take off and landing great heli thank you .

I got this as a christmas present for my son, It flew well the first 2 tries. but on the 3rd flight it went beserk.
